Georgia Land Border Crossings by Motorcycle
Sarpi (Turkey), Dariali / Larsi (Russia), Sadakhlo & Bavra (Armenia), Vale (Turkey) checkpoint conditions and procedures.
Key Border Checkpoints
Georgia has multiple active international land border checkpoints accessible by motorcycle:
- Sarpi (Georgia – Turkey)
- South of Batumi.
- Extremely modern 24/7 facility right on the Black Sea coast.
- Motorcycles can often filter safely to the front of passenger car queues. Keep right.
- Dariali / Upper Larsi (Georgia – Russia)
- Located in the high Caucasus gorge near Stepantsminda (Kazbegi).
- Subject to sudden weather closures, mudslides, and tunnel queues. In summer, motorcyclists are customarily permitted to filter to the barrier.
- Sadakhlo (Georgia – Armenia)
- Primary route between Tbilisi and Yerevan. Asphalt quality is good.
- Bavra / Ninotsminda (Georgia – Armenia)
- High plateau route via Javakheti. Chilly even in summer, stunning volcanic lake landscapes.
- Vale (Georgia – Turkey)
- Near Akhaltsikhe. Less crowded alternative to Sarpi.
